Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

SUMMARY:
In a custom equipment engineering and fabrication business, the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator organizes and drives the activities of the shipping and receiving process. This role will be responsible for most of the day-to-day tasks from verifying incoming shipments and documentation to coordinating outbound shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Unload trucks and inspect incoming goods for damages.
- Verify incoming shipments for conformity of the product and supporting documentation. Review the shipment against its purchase order requirements and/or customer requirements.
- Initiate Non-Conforming Material Rejection process for non-conforming products and documentation.
- Print traceability labels for the products that have been received.
- Report discrepancies.
- Coordinate the scheduling of outbound shipments for both parcel and freight shipments including ordering pick-up of packages and coordinating trucks.
- Responsible for verifying shipment requirements and flow down requirements of all shipping requests.
- Ensure outbound shipments are adequately packaged to minimize risk of damage during transit.
- Assist with material handling.
- Assist with general warehouse upkeep duties.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- 2-3 years of shipping and receiving experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be proficient in receiving inspection per quality program.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to use standard measuring equipment ensuring part dimensions are within tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret requirements listed on purchase orders, flow downs, customer contracts or internal documents.
- Ability to work in team environment.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to very loud. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
SALARY RANGE: $23.00 to $28.00 PER HOUR
